Books and lectures highlighting the history of Syria and the role of women…during the Brazilian Book Fair

With the participation of Syria, the Brazilian Book Fair continued the activities of its 37th session in the capital Brasilia under the title “the role of women in building their society”.

The participation of the Syrian pavilion within the exhibition, organized by the Syrian embassy in Brazil, focused on conveying the real image of Syria  and its people, especially the Syrian woman and her role in building her society, especially at the key stages of the country’s contemporary history and at all levels. It also highlighted the struggle, cultural and literary aspect in Syria and the role of Syrian women in this framework, including their literary, cultural and intellectual production.

The Syrian pavilion included a collection of books and literature “with some translated into Portuguese” about the history of Syria, Syrian women and the occupied Golan, photos, brochures, publications and videos about Syrian women who have achieved various successes and about the regions of Syria. In addition, there was a translated lecture under the title “The role of Syrian women in building their society in the Syrian Arab Republic”.

The pavilion witnessed a heavy turnout of visitors, including the director of the Office of the Deputy Governor of the Federal District of Brasilia, the Cuban Ambassador to Brazil, diplomats from a number of embassies, as well as some members of the Syrian Community and the media station Patria Latina.

The events of the Brazilian Book Fair started on the 24th of last month and will continue until the Fourth of this month.
