The Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh hosted the signing ceremony of the book “Life Goes On” by Amal Abu Samra, which was published last year by the Syrian General Book Organization.
The ceremony was attended by, Director General of the Syrian Book Commission Thaer Zein Eddin , the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Damascus Wajid Fauzi, the members of the Indonesian Embassy in Damascus , Director of the Arab Cultural Center “Abu Rummana” Rabab Ahmad,, and a number of Directors , writers and intellectuals.
Father Elias Zahlawi addressed the participants in the ceremony via video and said that Amal Abu Samra’s book reminds him of the French writer Honoré de Balzac, and he hoped that she would follow his method in writing.
Dr. Thaer Zein Eddin said that “the book depicts in its details the beautiful, personal thoughts that reflect the creativity of the writer and discusses many issues that most people face ”.
For his part, writer Issa Fattouh, explained that the author of “Life Goes On” book, presents many interesting stories that are inspired from life experiences .”She tried to collect sweet and bitter experiences that she had gone through in her life.
Nabil Al-Zawahira, a lawyer, talked about the talent of the writer that makes her distinguished . “Her current book and the two previous ones show her talent, which appeared in an advanced stage of her life.”
The Indonesian ambassador to Syria, Wajid Fauzi, during his speech at the signing ceremony, focused on the writer’s work for many years at the Indonesian embassy in Damascus, noting that her latest book ” Life Goes On” includes a graceful style and charming language that makes everyone excited to read it.
The writer Amal abou Samra said to Syria times e-newspaper : “My book ” Life Goes On” expresses my love for and belonging to my country, Syria, a place like which I cannot find anywhere in the world”.
“Through the love of friends, love for people, and familiarity between people, life will goes on in Syria and I will not leave it” Amal added.
“My relationship with Indonesians is strong. I want them to know what Syria is.. My book gives an idea to the Indonesians and the Syrians about the two countries [Syria and Indonesia]. There is something in common between the Syrian and Indonesian peoples, which is kindness loyalty and sincerity” she said.
