Aleppo-(ST)- Aleppo University is hosting a book fair held by the University Baath Party branch in cooperation with the Arab Writers Union and the Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition included many university books, novels, poetry books and children’s books.
The Director of Culture in Aleppo Jaber al-Sajour said that the exhibition includes a big number of titles, and its aim is to promote the manufacture of a book that carries the best contents at the lowest costs, to be a scientific source for students in their curricula and studies.
Nazir Jaafar, head of the Arab Writers Union branch in Aleppo, indicated that the exhibition is a step towards strengthening the relationship with youth and the student community, to be a permanent center for presenting books, magazines and other publications.
Nabila Razzouk, head of the Office of Preparation, Culture and Information at the University of Aleppo branch of the Baath Party, affirmed that intellectual and literary books as well as collections of stories and poetry and translated magazines and books.
Farouk Haddad, head of the youth office at the Aleppo University branch of the Baath Party, said that the book is important in refining the personality of the individual in society due to the importance of reading in the light of the spread of social networking sites and the reluctance of students to buy books. The role of these exhibitions is to encourage young people to acquire books at acceptable and encouraging prices.
