The activities of the Fourth Children’s Book Fair 2023 were inaugurated at the Public Children’s Library Association in Lattakia, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, and in cooperation with the Directorates of Culture and Social Affairs and Labor in Lattakia.
The exhibition is accompanied by a distinguished range of cultural and artistic activities, and many lectures and literary workshops for children.
A group of local and Arab publishing houses and libraries will participate in the exhibition, including from Lebanon, Dar Al-Hadaeq, Dar Al-Banan, and Dar Rummaneh
From Iraq, Dar Al-Buraq, “Together” Association for the Protection of Man and Environment Protection, and the International Creativity Development Center.
The Syrian pavilion included the Arab Writers Union, the Syrian General Book Authority, Dar Al-Qamar, Majd Library, and Al-Nasser Library with a range of diverse and modern versions of thousands of titles, with discounts of up to fifty percent, and the exhibition, which will continue until the 14th of this month, includes a remarkable participation of the children of the Robotics Club, in cooperation with the Genius Club , in addition to international, oriental and heritage music paragraphs presented by students of the Mahmoud Al-Ajan Institute under the supervision of Maestro Mamdouh Adnawy.
On the importance of the exhibition, the Executive Director of the Association, Mrs. Fatima Shahrour, said:
The exhibition aims to enhance the importance of the book within the reach of a child, as a basic and reliable source of information, fun and beneficial at the same time and contributes to the development of children’s imagination and creativity, away from the power of electronic devices, pointing out that the exhibition will witness lectures and signing of publications by Arab writers from Lebanon and Iraq, including the Lebanese writer Amal Nasser,fine artist Sahar Hijazi and Iraqi writer and poet Jalil Khazal.
