Egyptian security officials say a bomb attack has killed three army soldiers and a policeman in the country’s volatile Sinai Peninsula.
The attack was carried out on Thursday, when a bomber rammed his explosive-laden into the Al-Reesa checkpoint just south of North Sinai’s main town of El-Arish, according to Press TV.
Security officials say the bombing also wounded three soldiers.
On Wednesday, gunmen blew up an empty military office in the town of Rafah in Sinai.
The attack on Thursday comes days after a similar bomb blast hit a security headquarters building in the southern Sinai city of al-Tour.
On October 7, gunmen opened fire on soldiers patrolling an area north of the Suez Canal city.
Dozens of soldiers and policemen have lost their lives on a daily basis as security forces have been the target of attacks in Sinai in recent weeks.
