Interviewed by SANA correspondent in Moscow, Bogdaniv said “next year we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our two countries, and the relations between the peoples of the two countries have always been strong and based on these principles, the two sides will enhance contacts.”

Bogdanov stressed the importance of the meeting of the joint Syrian-Russian governmental committee, held today in Moscow, indicating that the meeting was very fruitful and culminated in the signing of an important agreement that opens new horizons for boosting political, economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.

“This meeting is another step in the process of strengthening and consolidating the political dialogue which is based on mutual trust, and which takes place primarily at the level of the presidents of the two countries, and this constitutes a solid material base that serves the interests of our two countries and benefits both the Syrian and Russian peoples,” Bogdanov added.

With the aim following up on the implementation of the understandings reached during the summit meeting between President Bashar Al-Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin last March, the Syrian-Russian governmental committee held a meeting on Saturday in Moscow co-chaired by Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam for the Syrian side and by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk for the Russian side in the presence of the official delegations of the two countries.
