Bogdanov: Russia rejects establishing a no-fly zone over Syria

MOSCOW, (ST)_The Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has underscored that his country respects the sovereignty of the Syrian state and rejects establishing a no-fly zone over Syria.

Speaking to reporters today, Bogdanov clarified that the idea of establishing a no-fly zone over Syria is not based on the UN charter and international law.

The Turkish regime, which offers all forms of support to the armed terrorist organizations that shed blood of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples, calls for establishing a no-fly Zone over Syria.

The European Parliament President Martin Schulz declared during his today’s meeting with the Turkish regime’s head Racep Tayyip Erdogan that the establishment of a no-fly zone over Syria requires a UN resolution.
