Bogdanov reviews with Ambassador Haddad a political solution to the crisis in Syria

Moscow (ST): The Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle East and North African Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with the Syrian ambassador in Moscow Dr. Riyad Haddad a political solution to the crisis in Syria

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website that Bogdanov and Haddad discussed the issue of the settlement in Syria in light of the results of the fifteenth international meeting within the Astana process that was held in Sochi last week.

 

In the final statement of the 15th international meeting in the Astana process, which was held on the 16th and 17th of this month in the Russian city of Sochi, the guarantor countries renewed their strong commitment to the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the Syrian territories, rejecting separatist agendas and continuing cooperation until the elimination of terrorist organizations there.

Meanwhile, the two sides stressed during the meeting the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of reconstruction in Syria, economically and socially, after the crisis.
