Bogdanov & Pedersen review latest developments of situation in Syria

Moscow (ST):  The Special representative of Russian President, Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East and African Affairs, Michael Bogdanov, reviewed with UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, the situation in Syria and the need to enhance  the  settlement process of the crisis in it.

A statement by Russian Foreign Ministry said that  the two sides discussed, in a phone call, the situation in Syria and the region with focus on the need for finding out a comprehensive settlement process to the crisis in the country, based on UN Security Council resolution No. 2254.

The statement  added that Bogdanov and Pedersen also discussed a number of issues related to the forthcoming meeting of the Committee for Discussing the Constitution in Geneva and the international meeting about Syria within the framework of  the formula of Astana.

Last July, leaders of the guarantor states of the Astana Process affirmed their complete commitment to Syria’s unity and territorial integrity.
