Bogdanov, Pedersen discuss the results of the fifth round of the Constitution Discussion Committee

Moscow (ST): The Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle East and African Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Syria Geir Pedersen the results of the meetings of the fifth round of the Constitution Discussion Committee in Geneva.

According to Russia Today website, the two sides stressed  the importance of continuing the inter-Syrian dialogue with the help of the United Nations in order to achieve a settlement of the crisis in Syria on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

Last Friday, Pedersen announced the conclusion of the fifth round of the constitutional debate committee meetings without making progress despite the lengthy discussions and excellent interventions, as he described, explaining that he intends to hold a number of meetings in preparation for the next round without specifying the date.
