Bloudan

Are you bored with your life?  Are you bored with the daily routine you are living and want something new and entertaining to do?

I think you should take a day off, get in your car and drive to Bloudan; the most important tourist area which is located 55km west of Damascus, at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level.

Bloudan -the almond area- is preferred over other regions for its fresh air, pure water and breathtaking views.

Now let me tell you about it in more detail; as for water there are many springs like Al-Ein spring, Hzeer spring and others where you will drink cold, refreshing, revitalizing water.

As for its fresh air and beautiful views you can enjoy them at their best in hotels and restaurants. You will try the most delicious food that you won’t  taste the like of it anywhere else and enjoy the charming picturesque scenes that may take you to another world.

Also you have a number of parks where you can bring your own food with you and pay a nominal amount of money for your chair.

Not to mention the chairlift in Jdoudna restaurant which is really pleasant for you, it feels as if you’re flying in the infinite high sky.

And now we come to the most interesting part of our article; Moses Cave.

Moses Cave is considered to be a very important tourist area.It is a large hollow at the foothills of Bloudan mountain. Its age is estimated to be about 200 years, took 100 years to excavate it using primitive and simple methods through an axe and a lanter. Its depth is about 3000m and an area of 7000 square metres.

However, over the course of decades, a great effort was made by its owner to open it as a tourist attraction in 2006.

The lower part of it was converted into a large lake with small boats placed to transport the visitors in a tour of its depth.

As for its interior designs, it contains antiquities, sculptures and archaeological monuments that  tell the ancient history of the region.

And also a market for handicrafts, coppers, ceramic industries and other stuff from which you can buy  many different beautiful souvenirs.

Let’s not forget its lovely restaurant & café with wonderful scenery.

Everything has been told so far about this tourist area -Bloudan- is nothing but a brief explanation of it as no word can describe its charm and beauty.
