Blasts Rock Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, Kill at Least 36

ISTANBUL-At least 36 people have been killed and 147 have been wounded in a terror attack at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport on Tuesday night, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim confirmed.

Casualty estimates are expected to grow based on imagery coming from the scene which indicate massive casualties.

Yildirim also stated that initial signs indicated that Daesh terrorist organization was responsible for the attacks confirming earlier reports by Turkey’s Dogan News Agency consistent with earlier statements issued by the PKK and Kurdish dominated minority HDP Party that Kurds were not responsible for the attack, according to Sputnik.

 Media reports said that at least 3 gunmen opened fire with Kalashnikov automatic rifles before triggering suicide vests as authorities approached. They indicated that Turkish security forces shot several suspects at the international terminal’s entry in an effort to neutralize them before the attackers blew themselves up before being killed by Turkish police.

Turkish Airlines official said the authorities cancelled all flights and moved travelers to hotels.

 Turkey has witnessed a rise in deadly attacks in recent months, with militants targeting tourist spots and police, making the security situation increasingly volatile in the country, said RT.

The Turkish regime under Erdogan leadership has supported and fed terrorism in its neighbor country, Syria. This Terrorism is now hitting back in Turkey amid reports on the existence of sleeper cells among the terrorist organizations the Turkish regime is sheltering.
