Bishop Absi renews calls for lifting unilateral sanctions imposed on Syria

Vienna (ST): The Patriarch of Antioch and the whole East for the Roman Catholics Bishop Yousef al-Absi renewed calls for lifting the unilateral  coercive economic sanctions being imposed on Syria.

Following the mass he made along with the archbishop of the Austrian city of Salzburg Franz Lackner, al-Absi said that the Syrian people are suffering very much from the unilateral coercive measures, calling for intensifying efforts to influence the West and lift all these sanctions.

Bishop Abssi, who is on a  visit to Austria at the invitation of Austria’s Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, also met the Governor of Salzburg District Wilfried Haslauer.
