Tehran, (ST) – Tourism Minister Eng. Bisher Yazji and the head of the Haj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran Hamid Mohammadi discussed here bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and the mechanism of activating the arrival of Iranian visitors to Syria.
During the meeting and in the presence of Syria’s Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, the minister said: “The Ministry of Tourism has conducted all necessary procedures to provide necessary needs of the Iranian visitors to Syria and the country is fully prepared to provide all facilities in this regard.”
“The tourist and religious facilities are ready to receive Iranian visitors and provide facilities and security to them,” stressing that the cultural, social and religious ties between the two brotherly peoples contribute to playing a major role in the activation of tourism between the two sides, the Minister added.
The minister thanked the support provided by Iran to Syria in various fields, saying: “Syria largely welcomes Iranian visitors.”
For his part, Mr. Mohammadi stressed that the Iranian people are longing to visit Syria “holy places ” pointing out that the Hajj Organization of Iran and the Visit is considering seriously the subject of activating tourism and sending Iranian visitors to Syria.
He affirmed the need for action and coordination in this regard with the Ministry of Tourism in Syria and the authorities concerned to ensure the visitor requirements, saying: “Iran and the Haj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran welcome Syrians visitors to Iran and the Organization is ready to provide all necessary facilities in this regard.”
Yazji, also took part in the election of the city of Mashhad, northeast Iran, as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in ceremony of 2017 by Science, Culture and Islamic Education Organization “ISESCO”.
