WASHINGTON, Feb.3, (ST)-The U.S. President Joe Biden declared on Thursday that U.S. Special Operations commandos killed the leader of the ISIS organization Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi in the vicinity of Atmeh town in the northern countryside of Idlib in Syria during a raid that also killed 13 people including women and children.
AFP quoted Biden as saying that the United States military forces successfully removed a major terrorist threat to the world, the global leader of ISIS,” Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, indicating that al-Qurayshi died when he exploded a bomb, killing himself and members of his family.
Earlier today, local sources in Idlib said US helicopters landed with groups of special forces, which raided and destroyed some houses after besieging them in Atma area, far north of Idlib, in parallel with the bombing carried out by drones, which resulted in the killing of at least 13, including 6 children and 3 women.”
