Berri: Syria’s return to the Arab League is a glimmer of hope for a new rebirth of joint Arab action

Beirut (ST): The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, affirmed that Syria’s return to the Arab League is a step in the right direction.

The Labanese National News Agency quoted Berri as saying: “With the return of Syria to the Arabs and the return of the Arabs to it, there is a glimmer of hope for a new resurrection of joint Arab action.”

In turn, the Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Muhammad Wissam al-Murtada, confirmed in a tweet on his account: “We have said it more than once that our nation remains incomplete and diminished without Syria.”

In a similar tweet, Representative Tony Franjieh affirmed that “Syria’s return to the Arab League  marks the overcoming of the stage of division and means the reunification of the Arabs, and it is a victory for every believer in openness, moderation and Arabism.”

For his part, the head of the Democratic Party, Talal Arslan, said on his Twitter account: “Syria remained a steadfast fortress in the face of all conspiracies, and for more than ten years it remained in the first line of defense of the region and resistance.
