Bernchik: Syria is key to World peace

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Secretary General of the Turkish al-Watan party Dr. Dogu Bernchik said that ” human heart beats in Syria and its peace is the key for world peace.”

In a press conference yesterday,  for a delegation representing Turkish parties, activists and parliamentarians, currently visiting Syria, Bernchik said that, “the people of Syria, its army and leader President Bashar al-Assad resisted like heroes not only for Syria only, but for all mankind against terrorism, its sponsors and supporters.”

He called on countries of the region to unite and maintain peaceful and fraternal cooperation to fight criminal schemes and terrorism, stressing “we do not want to see in our countries disintegrated by terrorism and  plots and projects and we refuse to be linked to sheikhdoms and clerics using religion for the sake of politics, trade, using people as an instrument for the implementation of their ambitions. “

“We want to live in a secular, democratic and political system that respects the values , and we know how to build this system, and do not want different ambitions to be imposed on us.”he emphasized.

Bernchik viewed what is going on as being a golden opportunity for the people of the region to be united and strengthen itself to face these projects through the establishment of the five-sea project, through an agreement among Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, in the service of the political, economic, security and social interests and for the establishment of safety and freedom, democracy and respect among countries and peoples of the region.

“We will make our own democratic system and build a free and independent human economy, we do not need to those hypocrites who talk about democracy and freedoms,” Bernchik added, addressing the states that are trying to enforce the alleged democracy in the region.

For his part, Turkish former deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Sener said that “the common point which united the Turkish delegation is its opposition to the policies, pursued by current Turkish government and its rejection of terrorism in Syria, “stressing that no one is eligible, especially foreign elements to hold up arms and enter a country to change its ruling system. It is illegal to interfere in the internal affairs of any country. “

He demanded the international organizations, especially the UN to respect the law and the resolutions approved by the UNSC member states.

For her part, MP Birgul Ayman Gulir, of the People Republic party  said that Syria and Turkey are neighbors and friends, but today the situation changed because of the presence of armed terrorists and their supporters on the border between the two countries, the imposition of illegal sanctions on Syria, and the existence of unrealistic media that promoted the crisis, stressing that the visit aims to eliminate these causes. “So we will work as volunteers in Turkey in order to fight this unrealistic media and to abolish the sanctions imposed on Syria.”

“We call upon colonial powers in the world to hand off the people of Syria and let them decide their fate and we will give every support to the Syrian people,” She concluded.

The Turkish delegation, which is in a two-day visit to Syria includes Dr. Umit Akoiyonlo head of the Turkmen Parliament, Birgül Ayman Gulir MP from the Republican People’s Party, Abdullah Sener, former Turkish deputy premier and former Gen.
