Belarus: We will respond to the confiscation of our property in Ukraine

Minsk (ST): Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei expressed his country’s determination to respond forcefully to the confiscation of its property in Ukraine.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Maki said, “Information appeared in the media that the Ukrainians had confiscated and nationalized the property of Belarus and Russia, worth about one billion dollars, which is unacceptable. Depending on the development of events later, we will take this matter into account in our policy, and if there is a need, we will go to the necessary courts.”
Makei explained that Minsk has conducted a comprehensive analysis of all its properties located in Ukraine and is ready to submit a request to the courts to recover the confiscated property there, adding, “Currently in Ukraine there are about seven thousand Belarusian vehicles worth about 355 million dollars, in addition to other properties.”
