Belarus: NATO forces and equipment arrive in Europe

Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin warned that NATO is strengthening its eastern flank and deploying additional forces and military equipment in Europe.

Khrenin was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying:“We are watching the events taking place on the western borders, we hear the statements of a number of politicians, and we see how the eastern wing of NATO is being strengthened, as more than 10,000 soldiers have arrived in Western countries, in addition to those who participated in the Atlantic Resolve exercises, and there are requests to deploy additional battalions near our borders, there is an American battalion in Lithuania.”

The Defense Minister pointed out that Belarus is monitoring reinforcements for the air group, and reconnaissance is being conducted near the western borders of Belarus using aviation, and destroyers with missile weapons arrive in the Baltic Sea.

Khrenin further pointed out that more than 80 warplanes arrived from the continental part of America to the region, and there are 156 combat aircraft in Poland, including more than 30 American planes that carry out flights on a daily basis not far from the Belarusian border. “The US destroyers in the Baltics carry missiles with a range of 1,600 km, which makes all of Belarus within their range,” he said.
