Belarus Confirms Participation in the DIF

DAMASCUS-  President of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, affirmed that the Syrian-Belarusian relations are solid and renewable and we are working on their development in parliament, appreciating the supportive positions of the Republic of Belarus in support of  Syria.

During his meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Saluka, Mr. Sabbagh pointed to the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries, especially between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Belarusian parliament through mutual visits and the Syrian-Belarusian Parliamentary Friendship Committee.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Saluka, stressed his country’s stance on Syria in the face of the terrorism it is facing, pointing to the importance of joint parliamentary action and activating the work of the friendship committees in the two parliaments through new projects, welcoming the participation of a Syrian parliamentary delegation as an observer in the upcoming elections in his country.

In a press statement after the meeting, Mr. Saluka pointed out that the Republic of Belarus has provided many assistance to Syria and is always ready for any assistance in various aspects, indicating that his country has received hundreds of children over the past years through training and recreational camps.

He confirmed that Belarus would participate in the 61st Damascus International Fair (DIF) through the most important companies and laboratories.

The head of the Syrian-Belarusian Friendship Committee in the People’s Assembly, Samir al-Khatib, stressed that work is continuing to develop common relations at all levels, especially between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Belarusian Parliament. He thanked Belarus’s support for the Syrian people during the war years and its social and humanitarian initiatives.
