Beirut: Archbishop of the Syriac Catholics calls for lifting unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syrian people
Beirut (ST): The archbishop of the Syriac Catholics of Antioch Mar Ignatius Joseph III Yunnan has renewed calls for lifting the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syrian people.
In his Christmas letter, Yunnan demanded to lift the measures that target Syrian people and cause suffering as the world keeps silent towards these practices. He wondered about the credibility of these states when they punish a people collectively and prevent them from obtaining the basic elements of livelihood.
He affirmed the necessity of halting foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs stressing that the Syrian people are the only party who determine the future of their country through national dialogue.
