Beijing Renews Call for Political Dialogue to Solve Crisis in Syria, Urges Unifying Anti-Terror Efforts

BEIJING, (ST)-China’s Foreign Ministry has renewed its call for solving the crisis in Syria through political dialogue being the only way to achieve the interest of the Syrian people.

In a press conference on Monday, Hua Chunying’s, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said “Syria’s future must be determined by the Syrian people and this is why China is doing its best to put the solution process on the right track as soon as possible.”

She pointed out that a delegation representing the “opposition coalition” will visit China this week.

Chunying stressed that “when the Security Council discusses Syrian issues China votes for peace because we insist that the crisis should be solved through political dialogue.”

“The next step is to work with all concerned parties whether Syria’s neighbors or the Security Council permanent members to play a constructive role in solving the crisis in Syria politically as soon as possible through collective efforts  to fight terrorism, stop violence and launch dialogue among all Syrian parties,” Chunying said.

She added that Russia and China will continue to enhance their strategic partnership at highest levels.
