Bazaars are a meeting place for creativity and economic promotion

Owners of small and micro-sized projects are keen to participate in exhibitions and bazaars, which are held periodically, to display their handicrafts or their various products of food, textile and cosmetics. They consider this participation as an opportunity to introduce their works to people and market them.

“Maysa Dahman”, a craftswoman, said during her participation in the “Syrian Colors” bazaar, which is currently held at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus, that she is a permanent participant in the bazaar, which is held monthly. She added that she also participates in other exhibitions with the aim of introducing and marketing the perfumes she produces within her small workshop.

Bazaars and fairs are distinguished by the fact that their visitors come from different ages, according to participant “Maya Qsaibati” who produces handmade sweets and participates regularly in bazaars.

Qsaibati stressed the importance of holding bazaars for communicating with visitors, knowing what they prefer and studying the market needs.

Waseem Al-Qahf, who displays medical glasses and sunglasses, said that the bazaars contribute to creating a market for selling products, especially for those who do not have a private workshop.

“The diversity and development of the exhibits gives an incentive for the participants to be more creative” Al-Qahf added.

Dania Al Doumani, another craftswoman, considered the bazaar as an opportunity to introduce products and to benefit from the experiences of other participants.

For her part, Rana Tabbaa, who has been organizing the “Syrian Colors” bazaar since 2016, confirmed that the high demand for participation in the bazaars is increasing given the suitable costs of the participation compared to renting a shop or allocating a place for exhibiting the products at home.
