CARACAS, (ST) _ Lebanese Foreign and Expatriates Minister Gibran Bassil doubted the determination and intention of the international coalition to fight terrorism, especially (Daesh) terrorist organization. “Do international coalition aircrafts throw bombs or aids on (Daesh) terrorist organization,”he questioned.
Bassil added after his meeting with Venezuelan counterpart Delsey Rodriguez, yesterday that “what is happening today against the peoples in the region starting as from Iraq to Syria, through Palestine and Lebanon is a repetition of a savage and brutal and inhumane pattern experienced against the peoples of the region, as a result of international silence”.
Bassil continued that “our first and basic cause is the issue of Palestine because it embodies the cause of injustice, rather the issues fabricated by the Israeli occupation “, adding that what we fear in Lebanon today that in addition to the repeated Israeli attacks against our area in violating our sovereignty and territorial integrity is a frequent and brutal infringement of terrorist groups that are similar to the Israeli occupation.
He underlined Venezuela positions in support of Lebanon and the just issues of the region, noting : “We are counting on the presence of Venezuela at the UN Security Council to approve international principles stem from the international humanitarian law and in respecting peoples rights to self-determination and non-interference in the affairs of states and respect for their territorial sovereignty.”
For her part, Rodriguez confirmed her country’s position in always supporting Arab causes and rejection of international imperialism and unilateralism.
Noteworthy that Basil concluded his tour on Latin American countries in a visit to Venezuela where he arrived on Friday.
