BASP National Leadership: Solution to Crisis in Syria Will Be Purely Syrian away from Foreign Dictates

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The National Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) has stressed that Syria will continue to be united as the Syrians want it to be and that the solution to the crisis in the country will be a purely Syrian one away from foreign dictates and interference.

In a statement marking the 69th foundation anniversary of the BASP, the party’s National Leadership said “through their steadfastness and cohesion, the Syrians day after day prove their great ability to confront the terrorist aggression and the extremist takfiri mentality.”

The leadership added “Syria backs every effort aiming to solve the crisis through constructive dialogue with national opposition forces, whose decisions are not made abroad, and it insists to fight terrorism in order to attain security and stability nationwide,”

“In the past, the Baath Party succeeded in defeating colonialist alliances and schemes and today it has a stronger determination to struggle as to confront challenges, to foil foreign evil schemes targeting Syria and just Arab causes and to preserve the cultural role of the nation,” according to the leadership.

It went on to say that the BASP’s foundation anniversary comes amid great achievements made by the Syrian Arab army and its allies in the battle against terrorism and its supporters.

The anniversary also comes as the Turkish and Saudi-backed terrorist organizations continue their war on Syria within the framework of a heinous conspiracy targeting the Syrian state and people as well as the country’s national role, the leadership said, noting that the conspiracy has also targeted the Baath party as a national Arab movement with strong will to struggle as to meet the aspirations of Arab people and build a united Arab society.

The BASP was established on April 7th , 1947 with important goals mainly achieving Unity, Liberation and Socialism.
