Bashour: The American embargo on Syria is a crime against humanity

Beirut (ST): The founding president of the Arab National Forum, Maan Bashour, called for a broad Arab and international move to cancel the US sanctions and coercive and illegitimate measures against Syria.

Bashour said in a statement: “At a time when the Israeli and American attacks on Syrian territory are continuing, behind the scenes of the American administration, an attempt is taking place to impose new sanctions on it under the name (the anti-drug law), which Washington takes as a pretext to tighten the siege on the Syrian people, and prevent them from importing basic materials   like medicine and others, and besieging it on the commercial, economic and monetary level by all means.”

Bashour added: This siege on Syria comes as a continuation of the global war against it, which has been going on for more than 11 years, and it proves Syria’s steadfastness and standing as a people, army, and leadership in the face of this war and its goals, indicating that this siege seeks revenge on the Syrian people in their food, medicine, and life after  the failure of the methods of sedition, intimidation and bombing.
