The Syrian embassies in the aforementioned countries opened their doors for the Syrian voters residing there to participate in the presidential elections.
It is noteworthy that the vote counting processes for the Syrian presidential elections in Australia, Japan, Indonesia, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Iraq, Oman, the UAE, Iran, Armenia, Cyprus, India, Pakistan, France, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria and Romania began earlier after closing the ballot boxes in the Syrian embassies and consulates according to the local time of these countries.
The Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections, and due to the massive turnout to participate in some Syrian embassies abroad, and the Foreign Ministry and Expatriates’ request to allow citizens wishing to cast their votes in the presidential elections, decided to extend the election period in the Syrian embassies until twelve o’clock at night according to the local time of each embassy.
