Bahzinah village is one of the most beautiful villages of Wadi Al-Nasara in Homs. Its perennial greens and mild climate have made it a tourist destination for the lovers of rural beauty, calm and stay away from the city.
The village’s distinctive position overlooking the Tal Al-Hosh Dam has turned it into a stunning natural painting and a charming green paradise.
Bahzinah is located in the Naserah district of the TalKalakh region, about 55 km west of the city of Homs, and about 10 km on the Homs-Tartous highway, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The village of Bahzinah is connected to Mashta Azar from the north and Shloh village from the south. Its dam formed a lake that irrigates the farmland of the nearby villages.
The village has an old church dating back more than 1,200 years, called the Church of the Virgin, where its internal shape and its vaulted black stones have been preserved. Some recent renovations took place twenty years ago in its external shape and a new church was built in Bahzinah holding the same name.
The people depend primarily for their livelihood on olive cultivation and some seasonal crops such as wheat and barley.
“Bahzinah” is a Syriac word that means “house of supplies’ “. It enjoys a quiet village atmosphere, where the smell of wild thyme as well as different kinds of colorful wildflowers, perfumes the 400-hectare village, at the end of winter and the beginning of spring every year.
