Bagheri Kani: The Iranian ambassador will be in Abu Dhabi soon

Tehran (ST): Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani announced the appointment of an Iranian ambassador to the UAE, and preparations for him to be dispatched to Abu Dhabi soon.

IRNA news agency quoted Bagheri Kani as saying in a statement yesterday: “The relations between Iran and the UAE have never been severed,” adding: “Abu Dhabi returned its ambassador to Tehran in recent months, and we, in return, have chosen our ambassador to this country, and the necessary procedures have begun for him to be dispatched to Abu Dhabi soon.”

In another context, Bagheri Kani touched on the negotiations between Iran and European and non-European countries, saying: “We are making efforts to achieve the interests of the Iranian people to the highest extent, and that the results fall within this context.”

Yesterday, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed with Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council in Abu Dhabi, bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, in a way that achieves common interests.
