Baghdad: Syrian-Iraqi talks to develop academic relations

Baghdad (ST): The Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, and the Syrian ambassador to Iraq, Satam Jada’an Al-Dandah, reviewed ways to develop academic cooperation between the two countries and delineate paths of understanding between Iraqi and Syrian universities.

The statement released by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research  said that Abdel-Saheb expressed the possibility of developing scientific relations between the two countries according to an academic program that meets the vision and proposals that serve the desired scientific goals of both sides in terms of undergraduate, higher studies and joint and automated supervision.

 

 In his turn, Ambassador Al-Dandah stressed the importance of developing cooperation between Iraq and Syria scientifically, academically and culturally, and achieving the aspirations of the universities in the two countries.

 In a statement, he said that the meeting focused  on activating memoranda of understanding between the two countries, exchanging academic experiences, participating in scientific research and conferences, exchanging scientific visits, granting scholarships for postgraduate studies, in addition to discussing the conditions of private universities and equivalence of certificates.
