BAGHDAD- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maleki has urged all countries of the world to fight the terrorism and takfirism burning the entire region. He has also urged the international community to adopt immediate deterrent actions to protect the region’s countries, peoples and interests against terrorism.
Maleki, who was speaking at the opening of Baghdad International Counter-Terrorism Conference which kicked off Wednesday, called for activating intelligence cooperation and urged terrorism supporting countries to stop releasing takfiri fatwas.
The Iraqi premier stressed that Syria has become the biggest field for terrorism activities, pointing out that there is an agenda which doesn’t realize the great dangers of takfiri terrorism and sectarian sedition.
“We fear that terrorism will be turned into a tool to impose policies and wills that hinder the embodiment of people’s aspirations,” Maleki said.
He stressed that the conference “is a basic stop for cooperation and exchange of expertise on combating terrorism, the currently most dangerous phenomenon in the world.”
