Tehran (ST) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei affirmed that Iran will continue its strong support for Syria and Lebanon in the face of Israeli aggression.
Baghaei said in his weekly press conference today: “One of the factors that contribute to the expansion of the scope of serious Zionist crimes in the region is the feeling of impunity due to Western support.”
“Although heinous crimes, genocide and war crimes should not go unpunished and this is an internationally accepted principle; the world has witnessed how the Zionist entity continues its crimes due to the United States’ obstruction of the implementation of justice in the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court”, he added.
In response to a question about the state of Iranian-American relations after the recent presidential elections, Baghaei said: “Reducing and narrowing the issues between America and Iran to a specific person or government is not a realistic approach”.
He noted that the bitter history of relations between the two sides extends over seven decades, and during this period no goodwill or effort has been observed to compensate for the inappropriate behavior by Washington.
Baghaei expressed Iran’s readiness to engage in dialogue with various countries with the same approach, taking into account national interests and the three principles: respect, wisdom and national interest.
Baghaei indicated that Iranian-Chinese relations are solid and the two sides remain determined to use all capabilities to deepen and expand relations and cooperation, and they are seriously following up on the roadmap for long-term cooperation and doing their utmost to achieve it.
