“Back to School” Festival begins in Daraa

DARAA, (ST) – A wide variety of school supplies, including stationery of all kinds, bags and clothes at cost prices and with high quality is offered by the “Back to School Festival” in Daraa, which also includes other pavilions displaying family supplies of food, detergents and various electrical appliances, with discounts of up to 70 percent of the product price, according to its organizers.

50 economic companies participate in the festival, which continues until September 5th at the “My Center” Mall in downtown Daraa city.

Kamal Al-Abdullah, a member of the executive office in the governorate clarified that organizing this festival reflects the efforts made to support the local economy and achieve self-sufficiency by strengthening the national industry.

He pointed out that the governorate always seeks to hold events that link producers with consumers directly, which contributes to reducing prices and improving the quality of products. The accompanying cultural and entertainment events also enhance social ties and add an atmosphere of joy to the city.

In turn, the festival director Zuhair Abu Hamed pointed out in a statement to SANA correspondent that the most important feature of the festival is the integration of products and real discounts that start from 30 percent to 70 percent. He indicated that the festival works to break the intermediate link, as the exhibits are from producers to consumers at cost price.

Abu Hamed said that the success of this festival’s experience will enhance the idea of ​​repeating it in later periods and for a longer period.

Hussein Al-Sabroji, Mishaal Suleiman, Hanin Raja, Muhammad Khalil, Yasser Al-Qudsi and Muhammad Al-Rifai, representatives of the participating companies in the festival, explained that their participation aims to provide goods with high quality and at a reduced prices, which contributes to alleviating the economic burdens.

Lynn Hijres, Hoda Al-Najjar and Basil Al-Hassan, visitors to the festival, confirmed that its timing is very appropriate, in the light of families’ preparations for the new academic year. They pointed out that this festival is an opportunity for families to obtain all their supplies at reasonable prices.

It is noteworthy that the opening of the festival included various folkloric performances by the Daraa Folk Arts Troupe led by artist Hammam Masalma, as well as cultural competitions and entertainment events.
