Baath Party, United Russia Party discuss cooperation

MOSCOW, (ST)- Assistant Secretary general of the Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal has stressed the need to enhance cooperation with the United Russia Party, pointing out that the two parties have wide prospects for cooperation and for joint action at the political and economic levels.

During a round of talks with the members of the leadership of the United Russia Party in Moscow on Wednesday, al-Hilal said such meetings contribute to building strong party relations that serve the interests of Syria and Russia.

He indicated that future party relations will witness notable development and more cooperation in the face of US aggressive acts.

 On his part, the acting Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party Andrey Turchak emphasized the importance of focusing joint efforts on economic and social issues, expressing the Russian party’s readiness to boost cooperation with the Baath Party.

Vladimir Belgin, member of the General Council of United Russia Party, hailed Syria’s steadfastness against the terrorist war, while other party members suggested holding a meeting for parliamentary parties in Syria to discuss foreign interference in sovereign countries and ways to confront colonial policies.
