Damascus (ST): The activities of the Autumn Flowers Fair 2021, which is organized by the Ministry of Tourism (Damascus Tourism Directorate) in cooperation with the Ministries of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform and Culture, started in Khan Asaad Pasha in Damascus.
The events, in which about 18 producers from different governorates participate, lasts for seven days and includes a display of autumn flowering plants, medicinal and aromatic plants and their products, an educational entertainment day for children, in addition to specialized seminars and workshops.
In a statement, the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashfaj, confirmed that the aim of the Fair is to transform this activity from a hobby into an economic productive work that families can benefit from, pointing out that the ministry seeks to hold these events annually and on a quarterly basis so that it has three specialized fairs distributed over the seasons of the year in addition to an International Flowers Fair.
In turn, member of the Executive Office of the Tourism, Culture and Antiquities Sector in Damascus Governorate, Faisal Sorour, referred to the event’s role in introducing flowers and their medicinal and aesthetic properties, pointing to the governorate’s support for any cultural tourism work that brings joy and happiness in the souls.
