HOMS- The legal status of 58 misled young men, evacuated from the old Homs neighborhoods of al-Sifsafa, al-Warsha and Jouret al-Shayah, was settled, Homs Governor Talal Barazi said yesterday.
In a statement to SANA, Barazi urged those misled young men who were involved in armed activities inside the old city, to benefit from the atmosphere of reconciliation, forgiveness and care provided by the Syrian state to its misled citizens.
The governor reiterated the governorate’s readiness to evacuate more civilians and even more gunmen who decide to hand themselves over to competent authorities, clarifying that assistance will be provided to them in accordance with laws and decisions issued in this respect.
For his part, Director of Homs Awqaf (Islamic Trusts) Sheikh Issam al-Masri urged all the youths who had their legal status settled to return to their normal works and life and not to pay attention to the claims of some inciting media tools which are taking part in shedding the Syrian blood and working to affect the Syrians’ confidence in their state and institutions.
“The homeland is to all its sons. We all have to work hand in hand to restore security and stability to Syria,” Sheikh al-Masri said.
Some of the young men thanked the competent authorities for the facilitations they provided to them during their stay at the temporary sheltering center in al-Andalus school in Dablan neighborhood.
Earlier, more than 450 youths, who were also evacuated from the old city of Homs, had had their legal status settled.
