Authorities seize huge quantity of weapons and ammunition in terrorists’ hideouts in Palmyra desert region

Authorities in Palmyra, in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Homs, attacked a number of terrorist headquarters and hideouts in the Syrian desert that were used by terrorists as a launching pad for terrorist attacks on safe areas.

“Following precise monitoring of the movement of the remnants of terrorist groups, including ISIS terrorist organization, the headquarters and hideouts of a number of terrorist ringleaders were raided. These hideouts have been used as weapons and ammunition depots and a launching point for their terrorist operations against Syrian Arab Army points and safe areas,” a security source told SANA.

The source added that a huge quantity of weapons and ammunition were found in those headquarters, including anti-tank missiles, mortar shells, an RPGs, medium machineguns, a PKC machinegun, and a number of automatic rifles, in addition to communications devices and day and night binoculars.”

The source reiterated the readiness of the security authorities to continue pursuiting, defeating and eliminating terrorists wherever they are, within the framework of these authorities’ sacred duty to preserve the security of the homeland and citizens.
