Austrian cardinal prays for peace in Syria
On December 27th, Austrian Cardinal Christoph Schönborn called for prayers for peace in Syria and the return of stability to its territory.
During an interview on the occasion of Christmas, published by the website of the Vienna Catholic Church, Schönborn commented on his visit to Syria last October by saying: “Peace for Syria is one of my most important prayers, and I live with it in my daily life,”
He said that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syrians directly affects them.
Schönborn added: “ Syria’s relationship with many countries, especially in the neighborhood, has begun to recover gradually, and there is hope that such steps can be followed by larger steps.”
