Austria rejects Turkish regime’s use of migrants to blackmail EU

Austrian Interior and Defense Ministers have denounced the Turkish regime’s use of migrants to blackmail the European Union. 
 
Interior Minister Karl Nehammer declared today that the current situation at the Turkish-Greek border did not happen by chance, in reference to the  attacks carried out by the authorities of the Turkish regime against migrants with the aim of forcing them to cross the border under the threat of gunfire. 
 
“The Turkish regime seeks to put Greece and the EU under pressure,” the minister said. 
On her part, the Minister of Defense asserted that the Austrian government rejects the Turkish regime’s blackmail. 
 
She pointed out that her country will send 2200 soldiers to protect the Austrian border in fear of the arrival of huge number of migrants from Greece via Balkans.
