VIENNA, (ST)-Austria has renewed its call for exerting more international efforts as to find a solution to the crisis in Syria through diplomatic means.
In a statement on its website, Austrian Foreign Ministry stressed that the country’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz and Interior Minister Johanna Mikl- Leitner have reiterated the need for common action and coordination to find a settlement in Syria through diplomatic means and to eliminate the main reason behind the flow of illegal immigration waves towards Europe represented in the terrorism of the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIL).
Both ministers were speaking during a conference titled “the Crisis of Refugee Flow across the Mediterranean and the Balkans Countries” organized by the European Union in Luxemburg last Thursday.
The EU said that the Luxemburg conference would focus on the repercussions of the refugee crisis and the challenges facing European states and neighboring countries because of this issue and would also discuss borders issues and topics including smuggling networks, human trafficking and organized crime.
The immigration crisis, which raised concern in Europe, is the result of the colonialist policies of the West which has sought to disseminate terrorism and support terrorist organizations in the region.
