Australian-Syrian Business Council starts its work in Sydney

SYDNEY, Jun.30, (ST)-The Australian-Syrian Business Council started its work today in Sydney with the aim of enhancing economic cooperation with Syria in various fields.

The council was launched during a ceremony attended by many official figures, deputies and representatives of Australian parties.

During the ceremony, which was held in the town of Pinkston in the city of Sydney, the Minister of Multiculturalism in New South Wales Mark Cure talked about the effective contribution of the members of the Australian-Syrian Business Council at the economic, social and cultural levels in Australia and the successes achieved by the Syrian community in Australia during a few years in various fields. .

Cure, who visited Syria before the war, affirmed in his speech that his ministry supports this council and provides all means of assistance and facilities that are necessary for its work.

For his part, Shawkat Maslamani, a member of the Legislative Council in the state of New South Wales, praised the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of all conspiracies and war waged against their homeland, pointing out the importance of establishing the Council in order to serve the two countries.

The council’s chairman, Ali Jureya, expressed his hope that the new council will have a counterpart from the Syrian side, in order to coordinate between the two councils with the aim of strengthening economic and commercial relations, establishing partnerships between businessmen from the two countries and contributing to reconstruction process in Syria.

The Australian-Syrian Business Council was established by the end of last year and it is composed of a number of Australian businessmen of Syrian origin.
