Attack on embassy in Damascus is terrorism – Russia

DAMASCUS,(ST)-Moscow regards a mortar attack on the Russian embassy in Damascus on Thursday  as a terrorist act and says perpetrators must be punished, said Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Russian citizens have not been injured. The embassy building has sustained insignificant financial damage,” the Russian Foreign Ministry posted a statement.

“The mortar attack carried out by “militants”from the central part of Damascus is decisively condemned. We regard them as terrorist acts whose perpetrators as well as those who encourage such attacks must be punished,” the statement says.
