At Least 20 Civilians Martyred in Blast of Landmine Left Behind by Daesh in Syria’s Salamyah

HAMA, (ST)-An explosion of a landmine planted by the Daesh terrorist organization in Wadi al-Azib area in Syria’s Salamyah countryside claimed the lives of at least 20 civilians.

According to a source at Hama Police Command, a car with workers on board ran over a landmine in Wadi al-Azib area left behind by Daesh terrorists before being driven out of the area. The landmine exploded causing the martyrdom of more than 20 civilians.

 The bodies of the martyrs were admitted to Salamyah and Hama hospitals, the source told SANA reporter.

Civilians of Salamyah countryside in Hama have been victims of landmine blasts over the past period. These landmines were planted by Daesh terrorists in the area before the Syrian army driven them out.

The terrorists intensively planted explosive devices and landmines in wide agricultural lands in the villages and towns which were under their control before they were defeated by the Syrian army.

The army engineering units have spared no effort as to dismantle the mines and explosive devices in the areas the army liberated from terrorism.
