At a cost of 14 billion Syrian Pounds, Makhlouf puts the Jreifat water project in Misyaf into service
The Minister of Water Resources Hussein Makhlouf has put into service the Al-Jareifat water project so as to irrigate the city of Misyaf. The Minister further put into service the drinking water desalination plant project in the village of Sheikh Ali Kasun in the northern Salamiyah countryside. He also reviewed the final stages of the rehabilitation project for the Hama irrigation network.
The Al-Jareifat Water Project in Masyaf provides more than 150,000 people with potable water through 4 wells at a capacity of 250 cubic meters per hour. The Minister of Water Resources was briefed on the final stages of the rehabilitation and partial maintenance project for the Hama irrigation network, in which the length of the main canal is 17 kilometers and the subsidiary canals are 57 kilometers, and goes from the Al-Rayyan site in Homs Governorate to the borders of the city of Hama and irrigates 7,400 hectares.
Makhlouf also put into service the drinking water desalination plant project in the village of Sheikh Ali Kasun in the northern Salamiyah countryside, which was implemented in cooperation with UNICEF, with a pumping capacity of 30 cubic meters per hour, and irrigates the entire village with drinking water.
In a statement to journalists, Minister Makhlouf confirmed that the Al-Jreifat project comes within a series of strategic projects in Hama Governorate, and it is a vital and important project for the residents of the city of Misyaf at a cost of 14 billion liras and was provided with an electric line exempt from rationing.
Regarding the desalination plant project in the village of Sheikh Ali Kasun, the Minister of Water Resources noted the strategic and vital importance of the project, in addition to the installation of solar energy systems for a number of stations that were implemented in more than one village, within the framework of improving service for citizens.
