Astana Talks Play Key Role in Settling Crisis in Syria: UN
NEW YORK– UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenca, announced that the Astana talks play an important role in resolving the crisis in Syria.
SANA reported that during an interview over internet with Kazakhstan media, Jenca said the Astana talks for resolving the crisis in Syria support the political process in Geneva under the supervision of the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, pointing out that Kazakhstan plays an important and fundamental role in resolving the crisis.
He added that the eight rounds of Astana talks played an essential role in establishing the de-escalation zones in Syria.
