Assistant Foreign Minister Renews Syria’s Support for Russia

Dr. Ayman Susan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, reiterated Syria’s support for friends in the Russian Federation in the face of the attack it is facing from the colonial powers of the West, led by the United States and its tools in the European Union. This came during Dr. Susan’s meeting with a number of correspondents of international news agencies in Damascus.

Dr. Susan explained that the Russian Federation is exercising its right to legitimate self-defense in the face of an undeclared war waged by the West for more than twenty years through the expansion of NATO and besieging Russia with military bases, with the aim of maintaining the hegemony of the United States and the West over the world, encroaching on the sovereignty of countries and controlling their national decision in a way that serves the agendas and interests of the United States of America and its tools.

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates added that the misleading, distortion and fabrication campaigns practiced by the West against the Russian Federation bring to mind the lies and hypocrisy done by the West in its unjust war against Syria, all with the aim of demonizing the Russian Federation and harming its reputation on the international scene, stressing that the West has exposed itself in these behaviors and became lacking the minimum level of credibility.

Dr. Susan stressed that the United States is only interested in securing its interests, even if that leads to the destruction of countries and the killing of peoples. This fact has become clear to the friends and allies of the United States before its opponents, and the day will come when the United States will not find anyone who trusts it and its policies.

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the escalation practiced by the United States and its tools, which constitutes a serious threat to peace and security in the world, stressing that the unipolar system will demise because democracy in international relations and the establishment of a new world order that respects the sovereignty of states are the guarantees for security for all as well as for stability in the world. This is because the concept of security must be comprehensive and cannot be divided or guarantee the security of one party at the expense of the other. Dr. Susan called on the international community to stand in the face of the arrogance and the approach of domination of the colonial countries of the West.

Dr. Susan expressed regret for the European Union’s loss of the minimum degree of independence and its dependence on the wrong American policies and the payment of its bills from the pocket of the European citizens, pointing out that the policy of sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation will have the worst consequences on the European economies.

At the end of the meeting, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed confidence in the ability of the Russian Federation and the support of its free friends in the world to confront the fierce war and disinformation campaigns with the same determination in which Syria defeated the terrorist groups backed by the forces of the colonial West, stressing that the growing Russian role on the international scene has become an urgent necessity and a demand for many of the peoples of the world to maintain international peace, security and stability.
