Artifacts stolen in Palmyra by Terrorist Groups, Restored Back

HOMS,(ST)_ Following close-follow up, competent authorities, in Palmyra of rural Homs, seized several stolen artifacts dating back to more than two thousand years hijacked by armed terrorist groups after extracted illegally and hid in one of the houses.

A source in the governorate said today that the pieces speak of funeral scenes, with one piece dates back to the first and second centuries AD, of a sculpture for 3 persons, depicting a father leaning back with his two children.

The source added that the second piece is the lower part of funeral bed for 4 people, two priests and two women, while the third piece depicts a funeral scene for a five- member family – father, mother and three children, in addition to decorative forms and parts of spiral columns.
