Yemeni Foreign Minister Shai’ al-Zandani revealed that arrangements are underway to open the Yemeni embassy in Syria soon, indicating that he personally communicated with Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani to send a delegation to Damascus next week to work on the embassy’s opening.
Al-Zandani mentioned in an interview with the Saudi newspaper “Okaz” that he has been in contact with the new authorities in Syria since they took over leadership.
He stated “from the very first moments, we initiated the necessary efforts to restore the embassy building and reopen the embassy in Damascus.”
Al-Zandani clarified that the Yemeni Foreign Ministry intends to send a delegation to Damascus on the 21st or 23rd of this month to retrieve the embassy building and reopen it.
