Damascus, (ST) – During his visit to the headquarters of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous expressed the Syrian government’s condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli terrorist aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate building and led to a number of martyrs.
During the meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbari, Arnous expressed his condolences to the martyrs who died as a result of the aggression, wishing mercy and peace for their pure souls and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
The Prime Minister said: The Israeli occupation entity, which is outside international laws and conventions, continues with this targeting of a diplomatic institution that international agreements prohibit attacking, with its terrorist crime from Gaza and the entirety of Palestine to Lebanon and Syria, trying to drag the region into dangers of undesirable consequences.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in curbing this entity who threatens regional and international peace and security.
The Prime Minister stressed that what happened will not deter the peoples and countries of the region from striving to strengthen their sovereignty and independent national decision-making and restore their rights, as victory belongs to the truth and the rightful owners.
He also stressed that the occupation will not be able to affect the strategic relations between Syria and Iran.
In a statement to reporters, Engineer Arnous confirmed that the Israeli aggression against a consulate providing services to citizens and in the heart of a civilian area densely populated and with traffic is unacceptable and is an attack “outside international laws.
Arnous stated that the Israeli enemy only knows about violating international norms, and that the Syrian and Iranian position is always clear and steadfast. He referred the work of the concerned authorities to remove the rubble and remove the bodies of the martyrs from under the rubble of the building.
