Arnous urges accelerating the rehabilitation and development of Damascus Airport infrastructure

Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, has inspected this morning the reality of work at Damascus International Airport, the progress of procedures for servicing flights, airlines and passengers, the readiness of the Syrian aircraft, and the work of its technical, operational and administrative crews.

During his visit to the airport, Eng. Arnous, accompanied by the Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym, stressed the importance of concerted efforts of all parties present at the airport to serve flights, passengers and airlines, and to expedite the completion of rehabilitation and development work for the airport’s development infrastructure projects, and to strictly adhere to safety and security standards in accordance with the required technical conditions in order to benefit from the available expertise and the national competencies in carrying out these works.

The tour included viewing the ongoing restoration and rehabilitation works to rehabilitate the damaged parts of one of the airport’s runways as a result of the recent Israeli aggression, where the Prime Minister stressed that the supervising and executing agencies and companies should work according to a planned and studied timetable and follow it up periodically around the clock.

The visit comes within the framework of the government’s follow-up of the work at Damascus International Airport.
